Mapped stream networks for the Mundeni Aru, Maduru Oya and Miyangolla Ela river basins in eastern Sri Lanka

This dataset provides stream networks for three river basins in eastern Sri Lanka (Mundeni Aru, Maduru Oya and Miyangolla Ela). The stream networks were developed for use in hydrologic modelling and are provided as shapefiles. The work was supported by the Natural Environment Research Council (Grant NE/S005838/1). Statement

Natural and artificial watercourses were manually mapped using satellite imagery from Google Earth and their widths measured. The resulting stream networks have been checked for integrity, including to ensure lines are snapped at vertices and points ordered in the downhill direction.
