Extended counts were performed to ensure rare taxa were accounted for. Quantitative analysis was carried out with a minimum of the first 300 specimens identified to species level. Following the initial 300 specimen count, the most dominant taxa were excluded and minor taxa were recorded. Bulk isotope analyses included metal-free cleaning of sediment samples and subsequent measurement of their carbonate and oxygen isotopic composition using a Mass Spectrometer.
