CGS Bedrock and Structural Geology
The 1:1 m digital geological map covering the whole of the Republic of South Africa and the Kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland is available in this OGC WMS service for your personal, non-commercial use only and is being served as a contribution to the OneGeology initiative (www.onegeology.org). Three layers comprising bedrock geology, linear geological features and major structural features are available in this service. The layer available for bedrock comprises lithostratigraphy and the layer name is 'ZAF_CGS_1M_BLS'. The layer with linear geological features, 'ZAF_CGS_1M_MLF', comprises lithostratigraphic features not able to be shown as polygons at the map scale. The layer of major structural features, 'ZAF_CGS_1M_MSF', comprises structural lines such as dykes, faults and lineaments.
