Chemical and physical composition of soil for four elevations on Mount Etna, Sicily, 2017

This dataset contains chemical and physical composition of soil for four elevations on Mount Etna. Soil samples were collected in 2017 and 2019 and then analysed for chemical and physical composition by a commercial laboratory in Catania, Sicily. The measurements were conducted as part of a study in to transplanting of two Senecio species on Mount Etna. Statement

1kg of soil was taken and stored appropriately (in provided containers) for each of 3 samples at each of the four transplant elevations (500m, 1000m, 1500m, 2000m). Soil was then transported to the Nucleo Chimico Mediterraneo laboratories (Catania, Sicily) where they measured the soil for physical properties (grain sizes), pH, and nutrient, salt and ion contents.
