Geoscience terminology working group
The Geoscience terminology working group aims to foster the interoperability and exchange of geoscience information, by active community leadership, collaboration, education, and the development and promotion of geoscience information standards and best practice. The group has several working groups on; OGC-CGI geological data transfer standards, data transfer standards for mineral resources and mining information, geoscience terminology for multilingual vocabularies for geoscience and an a collaborative network of African and global geoinformatics professionals working together to enable geoscience information to contribute to the environmental and economic prosperity of the people of Africa. various standards and documents for geoscience terminology and data transfer can be downloaded from their website.
