Boreholes were drilled in austral summers of 2014 and 2015 in order to investigate the internal properties of the ice shelf, and specifically the influence of surface melting and melt pond formation on those properties. These data are part of the NERC-funded MIDAS ('Impact of surface melt and ponding on ice shelf dynamics and stability') research project, with grant references NE/L006707/1 and NE/L005409/1. They were acquired using slimhole logging equipment manufactured by Robertson Geologging Ltd. These logs are presented in whole or in part in Hubbard and others (2016) and Ashmore and others (2017). OPTV logs were located (at the time of logging) as follows: Borehole; Lat., Lon. (decimal degrees); Coordinate date CI_0; -66.403, -63.376; Nov 2014 CI_22; -66.588, -63.212; Nov 2015 CI_120; -67.000, -61.486; Nov 2015 WI_0; -67.444, -64.953; Dec 2015 WI_70; -67.500, -63.336; Dec 2015 Data collection: Logs were acquired using Robertson Geologging OPTV probe, mini winch and Micrologger II. Logs were analysed using ALT WellCad and BIFAT (Malone et al. 2013) software. Data quality: Images are unaltered from those logged in the field. The OPTV technique is described by Hubbard and others (2008). Most, but not all, OPTV logs are at a resolution of 360 pixels around the borehole and at a vertical resolution of 1 mm. asNeeded completed
