Botswana DGS 1M Bedrock and Structural Geology
The 1:1 m digital PRE-KALAHARI GEOLOGICAL MAP OF THE REPUBLIC OF BOTSWANA 1997, covering the whole of the Republic of Botswana is the latest edition produced by Dr. Roger Key and other workers of the Geological Survey of Botswana (DGS). The previous edition was printed in 1984. The present edition was commissioned by the Director of Geological Survey in 1998 which coincided with the 50th Anniversary of the Geological Survey. The new digital map of Botswana was produced as an incentive for exploration investment in Botswana. The 1:1 m digital PRE-KALAHARI GEOLOGICAL MAP OF THE REPUBLIC OF BOTSWANA, 1997, is available in this OGC WMS service for your personal, non-commercial use only and is being served as a contribution to the OneGeology initiative (www.onegeology.org). Three layers comprising bedrock geology, faults and dykes are available in this service. The layer available for bedrock, 'BWA_DGS_1M_BLS', comprises lithostratigraphy and chronostratigraphy. The layer with linear geological features, 'BWA_DGS_1M_MLF', comprises dolerite dykes. The layer of major structural features, 'BWA_DGS_1M_MSF', comprises faults only.
