Faecally-contaminated environmental samples were collected over 2 years and the samples analysed for E. coli resistance to amoxicillin, cefalexin and tetracycline with detection of resistant strains presented in the dataset as a binary result. Records of samples taken from 37 farms including date, eartag numbers of animals in the immediate environment, sample type and descriptive location. 2. Records of microbiological analyses of the samples to identify those containing E. coli resistant to amoxicillin, cephalexin and/or tetracycline. 3. Prescription medication records acquired from veterinary practices and farm records. All calculations and data entry were checked for errors before data was accepted.
