Caterpillars were sampled at 26 matched pairs of lit and unlit sites between 2018 and 2020 as part of a study of the effects of street lighting on the early life stages of moths. Data quality assurance included data collection via standardised recording forms, data entry using drop down menus and automated calculations. Following data entry, records were double checked to ensure accidental typing errors were removed and to check for apparent outliers.
