Number of flowering tundra plant species at eight monitoring plots (2017) on Qikiqtaruk-Herschel Island, Yukon, Canada

This dataset contains records of the number of open flowers per plant species in each 2x2m plot on different survey dates. Plots are from two distinct vegetation communities (Herschel, Komakuk, coded in the data as HER and KOM). Plots were monitored in 2017.

Funding was provided by the NERC grant NE/M016323/1.

Statement

Methodology:

Number of open flowers from all present species in each plot were monitored as part of a study on phenological changes in tundra plant species.

Data collection:

A plant guide was used to identify species.

Resolution: 2x2 meter plots

Data quality:

All 2017 flower count records were collected by the same researcher following a consistent protocol.
