Composition of Macaroni Penguin and Gentoo Penguin diets from Bird Island, South Georgia, from 1989 onwards
The diets of Macaroni Penguin (Eudyptes chrysolophus) and Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua) have been monitored on Bird Island since 1989. This dataset comprises data on composition of diet samples (Crustaceans, Cephalopod and fish) and measurements of krill carapaces, fish otoliths and squid beaks found in the samples. These measurements are used to estimate the length and weight of krill, fish and squid that have been consumed.

Methodology:
Data are collected in accordance with CEMP Standard Methods (CCAMLR 2014). Information regarding sampling numbers can be found in Waluda et al. (2012) and Waluda et al (2017). All diet sampling procedures used were regulated by the British Antarctic Survey Ethical Review Committee in collaboration with Cambridge University and the UK Home Office.
All data were collected under permit from the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
