The data consist of vertical profiles of pressure, temperature, relative humidity, humidity mixing ratio, sonde position, wind speed and wind direction. Measurements are taken at 2 second intervals and the ascents extend to heights of approximately 20-30 km. The archive has around 10 stations with data from the 1990's, generally with either 2 or 4 ascents per day from each station until around 2020 where routine observations decrease to 1 a day from 6 main sites with additional ascents as required. Additionally, data from Aberporth, obtained to support observations at the MST Radar, Aberystwyth, are also available from April 1990 - April 2000 with at least one ascent a day and then as required operationally thereafter.
