Modelled output of ecosystem services for Great Britain at 1 km resolution

Data comprise of thirteen different ecosystem services that were modelled at the 1 km^2 resolution across Great Britain, mostly using data from 2015. The ecosystem services modelled were potential crop Production (in terms of calories), pollinator visits, greenhouse gas sequestration, two measures of biodiversity (biodiversity conservation index and richness index), erosion avoided, potential grassland productivity, nutrient retention, water retention, water yield, and potential timber yield. Statement

The data were created using different ecosystem service models. These included already-established models such as Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) and Landis-II, and some models specifically created for the AgLand project. The nature and units of recorded variables related to the appropriate ecosystem service. The quality control of each ecosystem service data was mostly carried out through sense checks (e.g. using values within feasible ranges). The limitations on the data’s reliability vary depending on the specific ecosystem service that was modelled.
